AnyDVD HD comes with same functionality as AnyDVD, but with additional features for full HD-DVD (High Definition DVD) and Blu-Ray support, including decryption of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray movie discs.
Allows you to watch movies over a digital display connection, without HDCP compliant graphics card and HDCP compliant display. No need to buy an expensive monitor. Sweet! Playback your discs on your PC with PowerDVD Ultra, which otherwise do not run (titles released by Studio Canal, The Weinstein Company, Kinowelt, Optimum Releasing).
AnyDVD HD is the "must have" utility for the serious home theater enthusiast using a media center / home theater PC. Another amazing feature of AnyDVD HD is "magic file replacement (TM)". Remaster any commercial movie disc using simple XML scripts. These scripts will "magically" replace the files on the physical disc. You can customize discs as you like without even making a copy to harddisk!

AnyDVD HD - Things We Like
Once it is running it will automatically decrypt DVDs and Blu-ray discs, even music CDs, letting users skip all of the region locking and anti-piracy screen issues they would normally endure. Thanks to the decryption a user does not need an HDCP-compliant display and graphics card to enjoy the content, allowing the use of your own media as you choose. It also improves the viewer's experience by controlling the speed of the disk drive, keeping the noise level to a minimum while watching movies. Decryption happens nearly instantly without the need to save data to a PC's hard drive. Most impressive is the broad range of media the program will work with, removing all region codes and decrypting all forms of DVD and Blu-ray as well as working on DVD and Blu-ray drives of all regions. This is combined with a broad compatibility with DVD copying software letting users make their own backups easily, even in the face of ever more complex copy protection. There are also a number of options for the creation of backup disks, the region code can be removed along with subtitles and other extras creating exactly the content you want. In AnyDVD HD review posts this has been one of the most positively received features with users happy to defeat the copy protections on their own property.
AnyDVD HD - Things We Didn't Like
The software seems to update too often with AnyDVD HD download times being time consuming and the update itself taking a surprisingly long time. While the program is updating it will slow down your PC, even with the pace of change of protected formats the near daily updates seem over the top.
