What's New with AutoCAD 2013
Section and Details View
A new model documentation tab provides easier access to tools for creating Section and Details views. Choose from common section methods including Full, half, offset, and aligned. Specify circular or rectangular boundaries for detail views. Constrain section lines and detail boundaries to key points in the drawing views to help maintain fidelity even as the model or layout change. Maintain consistency across multiple section or detail views with customizable view styles.
Strike-Thru Text
A new strikethrough style is provided for Mtext, Mleaders, Dimensions, Tables and ArcText offering increased flexibility for representing text in your documents.
Autodesk 360 Connectivity
A tight connection with Autodesk® 360 allows you to synchronize files. This includes syncing drawings and folders with your online account directly from within AutoCAD® software. Property Edit Preview
You can dynamically and instantaneously preview changes to object properties before applying them. For example, if you select objects and then use the Properties palette to change the color, the selected objects dynamically change color as you pass the cursor over each color in the list.
Simplified Migration to AutoCAD 2013New and enhanced tools make it easier to migrate your custom settings or reset AutoCAD software to the default install settings. Improved handling of tool palettes, a reset tool that returns you to the default settings, and a new migration of custom materials help ease the transition to AutoCAD 2013 from AutoCAD 2012 or previous versions

AutoCAD - Things We Like
Autodesk need no introduction as the producers of the world's best known Computer Aided Design software application for 2d and 3d design and drafting. The 2012 edition, features many exciting new and updated tools for conceptual design, model documentation and reality capture.
The 2012 AutoCAD review includes 20 supported features, 12 improved features and 15 entirely new features including Associative Array, Model Documentation and the long-awaited Inventor Fusion©. All of these features are designed to maximise productivity, give increased accuracy and allow duplicates to be produced easily and without error.
Autodesk Subscription allows customers to extend the value of their investment with access to the latest releases, powerful web services, one-to-one technical support, forums and course materials from the Autodesk University.
An AutoCAD download of the 2012 edition is available on a 30 day free trial basis, offering an excellent opportunity to assess its potential before purchase.
AutoCAD - Things We Didn't Like
The software is very expensive to purchase, added to which there is potentially the cost of further upgrades and subscriptions and the initial expense of purchasing a computer capable of running it satisfactorily.
It is not an easy piece of software to use and extensive training may be required for a technician to become competent in its use. Without correct training, it is possible to design products which would appear to work perfectly but in fact are completely impossible to build in 'real life'.
