BitDefender GamesSafe AntiVirus Defense is an extension of the popular Bitdefender Antivirus download aimed at the PC gamers market. It is for gamers who want to protect their PCs from viruses while maintaining their in-game performance and system power.
Built to run with a minimal performance and resource footprint, BitDefender GameSafe AntiVirus Defense includes a variety of useful features to ensure that gamers remain untouched - at least by their antivirus software. With a built-in firewall application and a range of 'gamer mode' enhancements, BitDefender GameSafe AntiVirus Defense is one of the most worthwhile and system-friendly antivirus applications for gamers.
There's one major concern for gamers: performance. While most PC users value safety and security in their antivirus software, many gamers prioritize speed and non-invasive performance. BitDefender GameSafe Antivirus Defense certainly delivers on both these counts - in-game popups are nonexistent thanks to GameSafe's built-in gaming features and non-intrusive design.
As well as being able to disable in-game popups, users can quickly and easily disable system scanning and maintenance while gaming. For non-gamers this function is largely unnecessary, but for dedicated gamers it's important to preserve system performance while in-game.
As an all-purpose antivirus application, BitDefender GameSafe AntiVirus Defense is very capable. Users can easily control the level of security that's required, fine-tuning antivirus and firewall needs to suit their PC usage. A separate firewall application is included, allowing gamers to specify which connections are and aren't capable of accessing their PC.
While BitDefender GameSafe AntiVirus Defense includes all the standard antivirus features of non-gamer versions, it lacks the performance and system tweaking tools that many BitDefender users appreciate. However, as an all-round antivirus application for gamers, few products offer the same level of security performance and minimal system footprint that BitDefender GameSafe AntiVirus Defense is capable of.
BitDefender GameSafe AntiVirus Defense: What We Liked
System resource usage is minimal, especially when compared to other leading antivirus and system security suites.
Gamers can easily configure GameSafe AntiVirus Defense to disable in-game pop-ups, system alerts, or hard drive scanning.
A built-in BitDefender firewall application is included, giving gamers the ability to block out non-essential connections.

A range of BitDefender tools are excluded, including system performance tools and hard drive utilities.
