PowerDVD Copy is a program you can turn to when you need to make copies of your personal DVDs. PowerDVD is not a tool for video pirates though; it only works on non-copy protected discs--typically, that means home movies you've burned to DVD from your camcorder or copied from VHS tape. I found some other discs this program could copy as well, though, like a DVD that came from a concert t-shirt stand.

The program is so simple to use that you can be copying discs within minutes of installation. Just insert a disc in your PC's DVD drive and PowerDVD Copy analyzes the disc. You can preview the movie in a small media player window, or just click the Burn button to make a copy (if you only have one DVD drive, you'll have to do some disc swapping).There are a number of ways to customize your new disc. If you want to save space, you can choose to only copy certain parts of the disc (again, you can preview the content to be sure you're selecting the right sections), choose to include or exclude specific languages, and even compress the movie by dragging a slider. That's handy if you need to pack a double sided DVD onto a single 4.7GB DVD, without sacrificing the menus or any content.
