Genie: Straight form the Bottle
For file backup and restoration, I’ve never found anything as good as Genie Backup manager. It works, and more than once it’s saved my rear-end from trouble, thank God. If you care at all about any of your files on you computer, you should get Genie Back up. $70.00 dollars now is worth the lifetime of problems resulting from lost problems later.

"This is an affordable and easy to use option for burning and backing up my data!" Four out of Five stars able to install and use on my computer within minutes! Genie Back-Up Manager Professional is easy to use, and helped me to get my computer backed up in a manner that I understood and felt in control of. Using Genie Back-Up Manager Professional is easy, and after the initial set-up, helped me get started backing up all of my important data and photos. This made me feel much more secure about using my computer again.

With so many chances to lose data or have my computer hacked, it feels great having a reliable back-up option available from a name I trust.

Genie backup Manager Professional 8.0

Genie backup is a very robust and capable backup solution. With Genie backup you can back up your data to just about anywhere on anything. It provides an online storage facility at a price which means you'll never loose your backup discs, and providing you have internet access they'll always be available. Wizards guide you through the backup process making it a very easy job. Having preset functions for backing up personal files such as Outlook and My documents, is a great boon.

Doing a backup with compression seems a bit slow, but maybe that's my computer. My only niggle with Genie, and it's something I noticed in version 7 and was hoping would have been addressed in this version is the following: When starting a new back up using the wizard, you first select to back up your personal files which usually include My documents. The next step is to back up folders. But when you switch to Folders', the My documents folder and any others from the first step are no longer ticked. This can be a bit confusing, but Genie knows you selected them in the first stage so they will be backed up. Genie is a very good backup solution, giving you a wide choice of options and very easy to use. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Works Well; Easy to Use (4/5 Stars) Genie Backup Manager Professional 8.0 is much better than version 7. This version allows open file backup. If you wanted to do that before, you'd need another file access manager, costing about 40 bucks. It's best if you have some technical experience because navigation and installing custom features can be a bit confusing, if this is all new to you. Otherwise, it's easy to understand and use. Has Vista compatibility feature and works with all MS Windows based program; lots of power. A good program I'll recommend to peers.

A Genie nearly Out of it's Bottle 4 stars worth I find that Genie Backup Manager Pro 8 is a fairly complete backup solution allowing users to backup and restore reliably. GBM's a huge install at 175 MB on your disk. It's expensive and not that easy to use. It does take some time in the help files to figure it out and it lacks the ability to clone your O/S. With this software I can backup my data to virtually any storage destination using the familiar Windows Explorer style file/folder selection.

Genie has a Windows Vista compatible disaster recovery feature guaranteeing you do not need a MS Windows installation CD. I really appreciate Genie's selfbooting recovery disc. The single-user, Pro version of Genie still offers both a traditional interface and Easy Mode. The traditional features standard restore and backup panes in a step-by-step format and access to advanced features; although it's not a button, the easy mode employs the same wizard-based work flow with a cleaner look, and no tools or advanced options.
