Federal and state tax preparation is always simpler with the right help, and H&R Block is one of the most trusted names in the field. Everyone knows the company's franchises, located in shopping centers across the nation. Their software package, renamed from TaxCut to H&R Block At Home, was one of the earliest in the industry.

The Software.com lab recently reviewed the Deluxe version on Macintosh OSX, and found it as easy to use as on Windows. The IRS has not yet completed the 2009 tax forms and tables, but the software performed well in trial runs. The user interface has been improved, utilizing a Q&A format to walk users through preparing taxes, and it also allows users to navigate away from a page to investigate an issue, then navigate back to the form and line without problems.
