DoubleCAD XT Pro is a great companion to AutoCAD and an excellent drafting complement to popular mechanical design package such as SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, and Solid Edge. With so many new, innovative features, you'll think DoubleCAD XT Pro is the upgrade for AutoCAD LT, too. If you are an AutoCAD LT user, DoubleCAD XT Pro will immediately feel familiar. Effective drafting and detailing are the heart of CAD productivity. DoubleCAD XT Pro employs a large selection of line, arc, curve, and spline tools, so that no matter the situation you have got the right tool for the job. When used with DoubleCAD™ XT Pro snaps, modification tools, and drawing aids, you will be able to quickly draft and document your designs with outstanding flexibility.

Powerful tools such as custom brush styles, transparencies, and smart dimensions also greatly enhance detailing. No need to buy a separate hatch pattern creator, DoubleCAD™ XT Pro even comes with its own.

Most significantly, though, DoubleCAD XT Pro includes a powerful and innovative Drafting Palette that expedites the drafting-to-detailing process by creating fully associative, 2D views or hatched sections (even from xrefs).

Because they are associative, if the model is changed, or the section plane is updated, the 2D profiles are changed automatically to reflect those changes and all hatches and dimensions are updated accordingly. The time savings and increased accuracy of this alone can pay for XT Pro many times over.

Architectural users will like intelligent, attribute-rich self-healing walls (a considerable improvement over the AutoCAD LT's double-line tool) and the range of other parametric windows, doors, slabs, roof, rails, and stairs that are ADT compatible. Any block can be used as a custom architectural element that will automatically align to self-healing walls when inserted. Advanced handle-based editing of selected objects gives you instant access to sizing, scaling, moving, rotating, and positioning without selecting multiple tools.

What-if analysis is made easy with 2D geometric and dimensional constraints and is a tremendous time saver as you iterate designs. Apply relationships between two or more objects for accurate designs which can then be adjusted easily. Make a change to one object in a design, and constraints automatically update the drawing based on the user defined parameters. A host of special tools, like a Gear Contour, Surface Roughness, and Weld Symbol tool, add mechanical capabilities not found in AutoCAD LT. And compatibility with .SAT, .IGS, and .STEP files means DoubleCAD XT Pro is an excellent drafting companion to any mechanical design package.

DoubleCAD™ XT Pro is compatible with whatever you are using: We believe we have some of the best -- and broadest -- translators in the industry. .SAT, .3DS, .OBJ, .IGS... all the important ones are here, 28 in total.

This includes .DWG, as you would expect.

What you may not expect is a DoubleCAD .DWG file, containing ADT-compatible walls and self-aligning blocks, can be brought into AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT and designs retain their self-healing properties. This intelligent behavior can save hours of adjustment and iteration within AutoCAD products and is yet another reason why DoubleCAD XT Pro a great AutoCAD® companion.
