Hanging Out For The Next Version Of This Popular Web Browser? Here We Look At Internet Explorer 10 And What Users Can Get When IE10 Is Officially Released.
With the recent release of the Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 2, the second public preview of this web platform, people are starting to buzz over what the final version of IE10 will look like. While Microsoft has said this preview is an early look at the Internet Explorer platform and some features may be incomplete, changed or added in later stages of development, it looks set to optimize speed, increase HTML5 compatibility and graphic visibility.
The first preview of IE10 was released in April, just a month after the release of Internet Explorer 9, which suggests Microsoft is trying to keep in line with developments from competing browsers like Firefox. The IE10 previews feature the support enhancements including:
- Support for CSS3 multi-column layout, grid layout, flexible box layout and gradients
- HTML5 Parser, Sandbox and Forms
- Web Workers; and
- Media Query Listerners
All of these features will improve the web browser performance through speed or visual enhancements, and may also be useful for people looking at new ways to design a website. That way users have a better overall online experience.
Of particular note is Web Workers, which makes applications run more smoothly by allowing complex JavaScript to run in the background for faster site loading times. As an official blog post about the Web Workers puts it: "With Web workers, the script on the page runs in parallel without the interruptions of page updates."
For a look at the latest developments in Internet Explorer 10, you can opt to test drive it via Preview 2 and see for your self how it compares. With all of these new developments, it looks like web browsers are set to become even faster and cleaner than ever before.
