With the release of Windows 7 many people are now planning to upgrade their Windows XP or Windows Vista PCs to the latest and greater version. There is nothing better than sitting down to play with your new Windows PC but it can be a very tedious and tricky process to make sure you copy all your software, configuration settings and personal documents and images to the new setup first.
The number of horror stories you hear of people loosing data, or forgetting about files, or loosing serial numbers and install CDs it's enough to make even a professional timid to make the upgrade, but that's where Laplink PCmover steps in. PCmover as the name implies is a simple application designed to take the headache out of upgrade or migrating from one PC to another. It simplifies the process to make sure your software and personal documents are transferred without you having to dig around in the bottom draw searching for install CDs or trying to remember where all your files, images, music, movies & documents are stored. As well as making sure your data is transferred it also migrates all your personal settings, make the new Windows look and feel just like the one you are using on the old PC.
At Software.com Labs we recommend PCmover to friends and family when they are upgrading and recommend your take a look as well. We do however also recommend you make sure everything is one your new PC before your recycle or reformat your old one -- there is nothing worse than that pit of the stomach feeling when you go to look for an important file and it's not there. A good software to tranfser items from one computer to another
Advantages
PCmover software to be easy to use and effective in moving the legacy and new software from one PC to another. It also transfered files easily and efficiently.
Disavantages
Laplink PCmover Home works much slower than its competitor software's.
