Norton Ghost 14.0 backs up and restores a user's entire PC computer system, including all of its data - applications, settings, folders and files - and offers exclusive remote backup management, industry-leading encryption and advanced compression features to ensure everything on the PC system is protected. Using Norton Ghost 14.0, users can quickly recover lost or damaged files and restore from system failures, even if their computer's operating system does not start.

Norton Ghost 14.0 leverages Symantec's Threatcon global security alerting system to identify threats, trigger automatic incremental backups and protect the user's system even before an attack can occur. It also offers powerful protection and enhanced performance with new features, such as offsite backup to an FTP site or Network-Attached Storage (NAS) devices, in addition to long-standing features like remote management and LightsOut Restore capability. With Norton Ghost 14.0, users can backup an entire system or only specific files and folders. Incremental backups and enhanced compression help reduce the amount of required storage, while the product's encryption technology helps keep all of the stored data safe and protected. "This is an affordable and easy to use option for imaging and backing up my PC." Four out of Five stars able to install and use on my computer within minutes! Norton Ghost 12.0 is easy to use, and helped me to get my computer backed up in a manner that I understood and felt in control of. Using Norton Ghost 12.0 is easy, and after the initial set-up, helped me get started on imaging my PC and making me feel secure about using my computer again. With so many chances to lose data or have my computer hacked, it feels great having a reliable back-up and imaging option available from a name I trust.

I bought this product because I recently purchased a new P.C. with Microsoft Vista. None of my old backup software, including Ghost 10.0 worked with this product. Much to my relief the software loaded easily, We do a lot of tasks on the computer from school work to creative writing. I always mean to back-up but frequently forget. That's one reason the ability to schedule data back-ups, daily, weekly or whatever, is so appealing to me. I tested the back-ups and they seem sound. I've always felt safe with the Norton Ghost product and this is no exception.

Norton Ghost 12.0

Norton Ghost 12.0 - Still Going Strong Quality backup solutions are a must for those who depend on the archiving of their data for the long term. Ghost is one of the best, allowing the user to protect their information. In an enterprise environment, there are many solutions to protect your data. However, these solutions tend to be aimed at defending the servers from loss. In the case of an individual user's machine, there is far less to choose from. Norton Ghost is one of the oldest and best programs for this on the market. It is a strong product allowing the user to back up their information to CDs, DVDs or to a location on the network.

Restoration is easy using Norton's restore disc, allowing the user to get his data without having to reload his operating system first. Need to put in a new hard drive, simply remove your old drive and load up your ghosted copy. Everything is as it was. In a corporate environment, if you need to set up a bunch of identical machines, just put the basics on one machine, ghost it and use that ghosted file to set up the others in a fraction of the time. Time is money and the time you need to spend recreating old files is time that can be spent being more productive. Ghost is a life saver in that regard. The only thing that I can say is "Don't give up the Ghost."

Like a cat with nine lives! Ever suffered a complete computer meltdown and spent fruitless hours trying to recover systems and data? Then you will appreciate the value of a good recovery program! Norton Ghost definitely comes in that category. I loved the latest additions, from choosing to back up individual files or running a complete system back-up; to being able to select a preferred time and date for Norton 12.0 to run an automated back up my data. Life has suddenly got a lot easier.

Whilst I think Norton 12.0 is relatively easy for the novice much of its newer functionality is very obviously aimed at the advanced computer user. Overall, I think it far outshines Norton Ghost 10.0 in performance and functionality. For peace of mind (and those extra lives!) I would not hesitate to recommend Norton Ghost 12.0 Rate: 5/5
