Norton Internet Security 2010 is one of Symantec's most powerful security suites, boasting improved online anti-fraud protection, anti-malware and spyware protection, and a blindingly fast antivirus utility.
An all-purpose online and offline security package, Norton Internet Security 2010 features an improved interface and vastly optimized system performance and resource usage. Available as part of a 3-PC license, Norton Internet Security 2010 is the perfect PC and internet security application for home users, small businesses, and medium sized enterprises.
Norton Internet Security has always been a favorite of home users, offering complete protection from online threats. In Norton Internet Security 2010, virus definitions and detection have been improved, with users protected both from known viruses (using Norton's definition database) and unknown new viruses through behavioral scanning and testing.
Anti-malware and anti-fraud features are also improved, with user alerts automatically triggered when potentially dangerous websites, external servers, and remote PCs are accessed. Spyware and virus scans are lightening fast, although they tend to return an alarmingly high number of false positive results. While only a minor issue for experienced users, new users and casual PC users could easily suspect trouble in an innocent and important file, causing potential system errors.
A user-customizable protective firewall is included, offering detailed and comprehensive protection from incoming connections and rogue applications. Users can easily modify firewall protective settings to make online gaming or file sharing possible. For serious PC gamers, Norton Internet Security 2010 uses significantly less resources than previous editions, making in-game virus protection a reality rather than an annoyance.

Lacking the trademark resource usage of previous Norton products, this slimline and efficient security suite is highly recommended for power users that don't mind the occasional false positive result.
Norton Internet Security: What We Liked
User interface is improved, but still familiar for Norton Internet Security 2009 users.
'Reputation' virus detection and behavioral scanning can catch rogue applications and system utilities before they're known online.
In contrast to previous Norton releases, Internet Security 2010 uses very few system resources and causes minimal slowdown of PC lag.
Norton Internet Security: What We Didn't Like
While false positives are expected with any security suite, Norton Internet Security 2010 tends to return them in bulk.
