Using novaPDF you can easily create high quality searchable PDF files in an affordable and reliable way from any Windows application. It installs as a virtual printer driver and its easy-to-use interface helps you generate the PDF files by simply selecting the "print" command from any application (you can convert your Word documents, Excel sheets, Power Point presentations, emails or web pages). Its purpose is to enable users to easily exchange electronic documents, independently of the application in which they were initially created. The resulted PDF files can be viewed on any computer with a PDF viewer (reader) installed.

You can password protect the PDF files you create and permissions can be restricted to prevent the document from being viewed, printed, modified, copied or annotated. Your PDF documents will be protected and secured with 40-bit and 128-bit encryption algorithms.

novaPDF allows you to define different profiles, each with its own settings for page size, resolution, fonts, compression, document info and save settings. This feature is very useful if there are different users using the same computer (and each has different printing preferences) or if you are the only user but need different settings for printing documents.

This PDF creator can generate PDF files with embedded fonts. This means that your PDF files can be read and printed on any system without distributing your font separately, while maintaining the original intended design.

• Predefined/custom page sizes - choose a default page size (like Letter, Legal, A3, A4, A5, A6, ...) or define your own

• Page Left, Right, Top and Bottom Margins - You can set a margin region that will remain empty when printing.
• Page zoom (1%-400% zoom factor) - You can zoom a page if you need advanced settings of how the document should be positioned on the PDF page.
• 40 bit/128 bit encryption - full 40-bit and 128-bit encryption is supported by novaPDF and the user is able to control whether the PDF can be viewed, printed, modified, copied or annotated
• create PDF links - recognizes links to files and formatted URLs (starting with "http://", "www", "mailto:" or "ftp://") included in the original document, and create them in the generated PDF file as links, so they can be opened by clicking them in the PDF viewer
• send PDF via email - once created, the PDF file can be automatically sent via email to different recipients, either using the default email client or directly from novaPDF (using SMTP configuration).
• PDF Bookmarks - novaPDF can detect the headings in the printed document and add bookmarks in the generated PDF files. You have to define the text attributes for the document headings (font, size, style, color) and for the generated bookmarks.

Rather than requiring a costly PDF editing application and training in new software, users can simply install novaPDF to their PC, create their documents, spreadsheets, and visual files in other applications, and print to novaPDF Professional Desktop rather than a local printer.

This ultra-simple PDF solution is ideal for home offices, small businesses, and online publishers.

More than just a printer-replacement PDF encoder, novaPDF includes a suite of features designed to make PDF management and creation easy, secure, and reliable. Users can add passwords and secure encryption to their PDF files, minimizing the risk of valuable data leaking and increasing overall security. Digital-only documents can be encrypted to disable or restrict printing, editing, and annotation, allowing secure businesses to keep their data safe, no matter where it travels.

Individual profiles can be created in novaPDF Professional Desktop, allowing users to quickly and easily set pre-made styles for new documents, spreadsheets, and imported websites. Different screen resolutions and document sizes can easily be determined in user profiles, giving users quick control over PDF files for mobile reading, use on low-resolution netbooks, and ultra-portable PCs.

Acting as a virtual printer driver, novaPDF remains inactive until users choose to print their documents from the original editing application. While this virtual printer application interface works effectively, it does present the occasional hiccup. Users with misconfigured PC drivers will have trouble installing and operating novaPDF Professional Desktop, while Vista users have reported some minor compatibility issues. However, as a total PDF solution, novaPDF Professional Desktop is a very worthwhile application for home users, small businesses, and enterprises.

Virtual printer configuration removes the need for users to adapt to new software styles or interfaces.

PDF files can be encrypted, allowing for a variety of security options including locked viewing, password protection, and limited copying and annotation.

Individual user profiles make changing formatting, image size, and screen resolution simple.

novaPDF Professional Desktop: What We Didn't Like

Some users have reported difficulty configuring novaPDF as a printer, especially on Windows Vista.
