Paragon Drive Backup 10 Professional is a full-featured backup application for Windows users, providing ultimate disk security and data backup. Designed to protect data in the event of hardware failure or drive corruption, Paragon Drive Backup 10 includes a range of updates and enhancements, including the ability to backup entire drives at 1TB, file and folder 'exclusions', and some nifty tools for bootable backups.
With today's truly massive hard drives, backup software is quickly becoming less about compatibility and more about sheer size and speed. Paragon Drive Backup 10 offers users the ability to backup entire 1TB discs to internal or external media, allowing even the most data-hungry system to have a complete backup for emergencies.
Alongside the large-scale drive backups, Drive Backup 10 also includes options for backing up smaller file archives and folders to Blu-ray discs and DVD optical media. For smaller backups, files and folders can be marked to be excluded, allowing users to easily hand-pick applications and information to backup and secure.
New features in Drive Backup 10 include the ability to backup startup and boot information to a USB memory stick, allowing users to boot in emergency situations to the Paragon Recovery Environment. From here, users can easily recover backup information, including full drive images and important system operating information.
Despite the large range of backup and security options, some users have experienced compatibility issues with Drive Backup 10. Full-drive backups can take days to complete, and afterwards are often rendered ineffective and unusable as a secure backup. Data recovery times can often be sluggish - file restorations as small as 20GB can take entire days to complete.
Despite occasionally sluggish performance, Paragon Drive Backup 10 still stands up as one of the most impressive backup and security applications available. Boasting a range of features that rival applications can't compare to, including the ability to backup to and from RAID discs, Paragon Drive Backup 10 is a worthwhile backup application for PC users.
Paragon Drive Backup Professional: What We Liked
Users can backup entire 1TB drives - a data security feature that's sorely missing from other backup applications.
Files and folders can be selected for inclusion or exclusion from drive and partition backups.
Users can quickly and easily backup RAID disc data.
Paragon Drive Backup Professional: What We Didn't Like
Drive backups can be sluggish and occasionally unusable.
Recovery performance is slow, with file recovery times reaching into the days for large hard drives and partitions.
