Product Description

PGP® NetShare from Symantec allows users to automatically and transparently encrypt files and folders on a file server enabling secure sharing of protected documents, spreadsheets, graphics files and more. PGP NetShare provides client-based encryption that can be managed via PGP Universal Server to enforce corporate data protection and key management policies.

Features:

• Transparently allows a user to read and write shared encrypted files if they have been granted PGP NetShare access – otherwise access to those files is disabled.
• Embeds encryption protection into the file or folder being protected. Once secure, files and folders can be moved without losing their protection.
• Supports role separation by enforcing different permission levels for users, data owners and administrators.
• Enables PGP Universal Server administrators to ensure a PGP NetShare user will automatically and transparently encrypt files based on application type.
• Allows users to easily and transparently share encrypted files and folders, improving data security without impacting user productivity.
• Enables administrators to provide owner-based content encryption for files and folders on file shares while maintaining control over encryption keys and encryption policies.
• Leverages existing PGP Universal Server capabilities such as Active Directory support and key management services to reduce the complexity inherent in providing user-based encryption services.
