When it comes to choosing the best tax software you have many options. Among the most popular are TurboTax Premier and TurboTax Deluxe. In short, you cannot go wrong with either one of these products. Both are well designed by Intuit, and trusted by millions of people all over the country. There are some differences to be aware of, though.

With TurboTax Deluxe, you get everything from the free and basic versions including: ability to find more than 350 deductions, accurate valuation for donations, and audit risk alert.

TurboTax Premier, on the other hand, is a step up from the Deluxe version. You will receive all the features of deluxe, as well as many others with a tight focus on rental property and investments. Some of the things this program offers over the Deluxe software include: the ability to accurately calculate gains and losses, find rental property deductions, and assistance with reporting the sales of stocks.

Those with investments and rental property income should choose TurboTax Premier. If you don’t have anything to worry about in these areas, you will be just fine relying on TurboTax Deluxe and its many features. Both software suites are far from basic and have a lot to offer taxpayers of all backgrounds.
