A full-featured spam filter and anti-spam tool for Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Server-side email applications, SPAMfighter Pro 6 is one of the most popular and acclaimed spam filters available. Using a community-powered spam filtering model, SPAMfighter Pro 6 detects, filters, and blocks spam by locating common spam terms, community marked email addresses, and frequent high-deployment email signs. While lacking support for IMAP email accounts, SPAMfighter Pro 6 is still a highly powerful and worthwhile anti-spam tool.

Designed to integrate with standard Windows email clients, SPAMfighter Pro 6 includes support for all recent versions of Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird. Client-based email clients integrate quickly and easily with SPAMfighter Pro 6, and configuration is user-friendly and simple. However, some users have experienced issues with built-in and third-party Windows firewalls, which detect SPAMfighter Pro 6's outbound connections and block email altogether.

Build with a community-powered anti-spam filter, SPAMfighter Pro 6 filters and deletes messages based on community response. When enough SPAMfighter Pro 6 users report a message as spam, the application automatically flags the message upon arrival and sorts it as spam. While not as accurate and specific as Bayesian email filtering methods which use specific algorithms to determine the probability of an item being spam, SPAMfighter Pro 6's accuracy is still commendable and very worthwhile for home users.

While user-friendly and relatively accurate, there are a few minor issues which prevent SPAMfighter Pro 6 from being a truly great anti-spam plug-in. Firstly, while emails are filtered accurately, there's no way for users to analyze why emails are marked as spam in the first place. The community-powered model also leaves room for abuse, as multiple users could easily mark non-spam messages as spam and influence the filtering results.

Tests indicated a slightly higher level of false positives than with Bayesian filtering, but not by an alarming amount. As an all-round email filtering and anti-spam application, SPAMfighter Pro 6 is worthwhile. Whether used on a client or server-side email application, spam filtering is quick, the user interface is clean and simple, and almost all spam is eliminated.

While not as accurate as Bayesian email filtering, SPAMfighter Pro 6 still provides very precise email filtering.

No support for IMAP email accounts.

While far from alarmingly high, a few false positives were returned in testing.
