The more you use your computer and surf the Internet, the more junk you accumulate. This is a concern because it does more than just gunk up and slow down your computer. Webroot Window Washer 6 is designed to clean your system of this accumulated junk. It will clean out your history list, Internet cache, media you've run in Windows Media Player, the history of programs you've run, searches you've done…and that's just the beginning. It will also clean up junk left behind by programs such as Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Flash player, through an associated plug-in.
It's quite simple to use. Click the Wash Now button, and you'll see a list of items it will wash. Click Start and it goes about its job, reporting on its results as it cleans. You may be quite surprised by the amount of junk in your system. For example, on mytest PC, it removed 160.6 MB of junk in the Internet Explorer cache, 451.8 MB of temporary Windows files, and 451.9 MB of junk left behind by Macromedia Flash Player.
Advanced users will be pleased to know that it's easy to configure it to clean the way you want, when you want it to clean. For example, you can choose to keep or kill cookies from specific domains, do its cleaning every time you close your browser or start Windows. You can even have it overwrite files it cleans so it will be very difficult for anyone examining your PC to reconstruct them. Is this program worth it? If you feel comfortable doing the cleaning yourself, and don't mind if you don't get your system completely clean, you can do without it. But if you're looking for a comprehensive 32 bit Windows cleaner, this one is a good way to go.
