The consumer version of Trend Micro's popular internet security suite, Internet Security 2010 is an all-purpose PC security application. Designed to protect users from potentially dangerous PC viruses, malicious software, hackers, and online fraud, Trend Micro Internet Security 2010 includes a wide variety of built-in features and applications.
Available for all recent versions of Microsoft Windows, Internet Security 2010 offers a unique blend of smooth performance, quick and simple scanning, and a much-improved and highly user-friendly software interface.
Internet security suites are often bulky and difficult to operate, and it's clear than Trend Micro have gone out of their way to improve usability and user experience in Internet Security 2010. While retaining all of the features of previous versions, and in many cases expanding on and improving them, the 2010 edition of Internet Security features a new user-friendly interface and a range of simple do-all software options.
Able to be controlled as both an automatic and manual internet security application, Trend Micro has a range of protective options for PC users. Users can couple Internet Security 2010 with their own independent firewall application, or use the built-in security features to automatically protect their PC from online fraud and hacking attempts.
New users will feel instantly at home in front of Internet Security 2010's simple control options. While advanced users are free to manually control their PC's level of protection, new users will undoubtedly want to automate protection using one of Internet Security 2010's built-in protection settings. While covering most potential risks, built-in settings can occasionally be overprotective, which may lead users to wish to configure custom security profiles and protection options.
Despite the simple operation, Internet Security 2010's scanning and virus detection performance can be inconsistent. While viruses are detected quickly, users have reported that scanning and quarantine options can often be ineffective. As an all-purpose security suite, Internet Security 2010 lives up to the hype, but it occasionally best coupled with built-in security applications or system firewalls.
